15mm PIR Rigid Insulation Board Xtratherm (Unilin) 1200mm x 1200mm is a thinnest rigid foil faced polyisocyanurate (PIR) thermal foam insulation board designed for roofs, walls, floors, timber and steel framed systems.

Unilin (Xtratherm) PIR insulation boards are stable, rot proof and will remain effective for the life span of the building (depending on specification and installation).

15mm PIR Insulation is very thermally efficient, as determined by using long-term thermal resistance values (R-Value) with a certified thermal conductivity of 0.022W/mK.

Thin-R provides the most efficient U-values with minimal intrusion into valuable living space with excellent thermal bridging details, thus reducing heat loss and saving money on energy bills.

Care should be taken to avoid contact with acids, petrol, alkalis and mineral oil, when contact is made, clean materials in a safe manner before installation.

Thin-R insulation core and composite foil facings resist attack by mould, fungi, bacteria and microbial growth.

Rigid PIR Foam insulation materials can directly contribute to strategies for conserving energy and significantly reduce the effects of global warming.

 · Avoids Intrusion into Living Area

 · Reduced Risk of Condensation

 · Low Emissivity Foil Facings

 · Lightweight and Easy to Install

 · Reduced Thermal Bridging

Handling, Cutting and Storage:

Xtratherm insulation should be stored off the ground, on a clean flat surface and must be stored under cover.

The polythene wrapping is not considered adequate protection for outside exposure.

Care should be taken to protect the insulation in storage and during the build process.

The insulation boards can be readily cut using a sharp knife or fine toothed saw.

Ensure tight fitting of the insulation boards to achieve continuity of insulation as asked for within the ACDs.

Appropriate PPE should be worn when handling insulation.

Durability:

Xtratherm products are stable, rot proof and will remain effective for the life span of the building, dependent on specification and installation.

Care should be taken to avoid contact with acids, petrol, alkalis and mineral oil, when contact is made, clean materials in a safe manner before installation.

What is 15mm Xtratherm?

15mm Xtrather is the thinnest PIR insulation available on the market. Thin-R insulation core and composite foil facings resist attack by mould, fungi, bacteria and microbial growth.

What is the size of 15mm Xtratherm?

15mm Xtrathem comes in 2 sizes. Standard big size 8x4 (2400mx1200mm) and (1200mmx1200mm) small size made for easy transportation.

Is 15mm Xtartherm waterproof?

15mm Xtratherm is moisture-resistant, since their structure does not allow them to absorb water, unlike some other insulation materials, which enables them to preserve their integrity and thermal insulation properties over time. 15mm Xtratherm vapour resistivity is 100 MNs/gm

Can I use 15mm Xtratherm as a loft insulation?

Yes, if you are limited with space, Xtratherm PIR insulation would be your best choice.

What is the thinnest PIR insulation with highest R-value?

For sure it would be our 15mm Xtratherm Thin-R. It is a thinnest rigid foil faced polyisocyanurate (PIR) thermal foam insulation board designed for roofs, walls, floors, timber and steel framed systems with a certified thermal conductivity of 0.022W/mK.

Is 15mm Xtratherm any good for a caravan?

To ensure you can enjoy yours all year round, caravan insulation is a must. A popular choice is Rigid Insulation Foam (PIR) which is relatively cost-effective and can be cut to fit snugly inside the caravan's panels. Adding 15mm Xtratherm PIR insulation is good idea to keep the caravan inside warm.

What do I line my caravan walls with?

If you looking to line your caravan walls, you should consider our 15mm Xtratherm PIR bonded to 6mm Plywood. Plywood has been a very popular choice for the caravan industry for quite some time now.

Is 15mm Xtratherm Thin-R foil faced?

15mm Xtratherm has aluminium foil on both sides. This foil faced insulation is the best type of insulation for retaining heat in the winter and keeping heat out in the summer.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
