2mm Heatsaver Wall Underliner is an ultra thin basic polystyrene insulation design to avoid condensation problems and subsequent mould growth for a healthier home.
Wall Underliner Heatsaver is an economical only 2mm thick solution used on problematic inside walls of the property to resist damp and mould formation.
To create a more durable and smoother surface we recommend the surface is overlined - Wallrock Fibreliner is particularly tough and strong.
This product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes inside your home.
This product is class E fire rated and should not be used for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building regulations are applicable.
If used as part of a system that both adds to the insulation value and protects the surface from fire it may be compliant but expert advice should be sought.
Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing such surfaces.

2mm Heatsaver Wall Underliner Installation Guide:
· Ensure that base surfaces are clean, dry, firm and free from any loose or flaking material.
· Apply the adhesive generously to the wall using a roller.
· As a guide we recommend 1.25Kg of paste per roll, more if the base surface is uneven or textured, where it is especially important to apply a thick bed of adhesive.
· Cover an area sufficient to apply one length of Heatsaver Wall Underliner at a time ensuring the pasted area exceeds the width of the Heatsaver.
· Use a brush or spatula to apply adhesive to areas the roller cannot reach.
· Apply Heatsaver directly from the roll onto the wet adhesive.
· Smooth out any bubbles with a roller or similar.
· Leave a small amount of surplus material for trimming where necessary.
· Cut off any excess material at the ceiling, floors and corners using a trimming knife in combination with a forming board.
· On external corners the exposed edge of the material can be filled and sanded with flexible filler to give a neat finish.
· Allow 48 hours for drying, longer if conditions are especially humid or cold.
· We also recommend that all wallcoverings are allowed to dry naturally.
· Recommend that heating is turned off whilst the wallcovering adhesive dries out, unless ambient temperatures are likely to drop below 10°C/50°F.
· Any small gaps at seams and corners can be filled with flexible filler prior to applying a suitable Lining Paper.
· We recommend that the Heatsaver is lined before painting or covered with a decorative wallpaper.
· Use a good quality adhesive for application of this product making sure it is suitable for hanging polystyrene veneers.
· We strongly recommend using our Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive and cannot accept responsibility for adhesion problems if an alternative adhesive has been used.
· Warning - surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing these surfaces.
· Turn off electricity supply before working around plug points, light fittings and switches.

INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
