Understanding HX Plus*

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between Cellocre HX S and Cellore HX Plus?
Let’s take a closer look.

Cellcore HX S range product is just a standard void former designed for use beneath reinforced concrete floor slabs to protect against the potential effects of ground heave.

Its main disadvantage is that it provides no insulation value whatsoever for underneath floor slab. If you considering insulating your building in same time, then you should consider looking at new product.

It is cell called HS Plus. HX Plus under slab is a combination product, it has a range of cellular legs with different depths of insulation glued onto the top of those cellular legs dependent upon the target U-value that you need to hit.

Same as with  HX S range we have here protection board on to of it.

Only differnce is that HX Plus consists of a cellular construction of Expanded Polystyrene bonded to a Filcor insulation layer and protected by a thin polypropylene sheet.

Similar to HX S range products, it is dimensionally stable under varying conditions of temperature and humidity. It is rot-proof and water-resistant and will continue to perform effectively as a void former for the span life of the building.

Unlike HX S, HX Plus incorporates an integral layer of EPS insulation available in various thicknesses to meet thermal performance requirements.

HX Plus is made in 25mm increments, which means insulation material ( Filcor ) is added (50mm,75mm,100mm,125mm,150mm).

It is available in a variety of depths and grades to suit the most commonly encountered combinations of soil heave potential and concrete depths.

It comes in thicknesses:

130mm ǀ 155mm ǀ 180mm ǀ 200mm ǀ 205mm ǀ 225mm ǀ 230mm ǀ 250mm ǀ 265mm ǀ 275mm ǀ 290mm ǀ 300mm ǀ 315mm ǀ 340mm ǀ 365mm

Both HX S and HX Plus share one think in common. Both have been designed to protect foundations from the effect of ground heave.
Other think to mension here is the BBA certification. Both products have been positively tested to tight tolerances to achieve the specified performance characteristics.(Certificate no. 11/4862.)

In order to undertake a U-value calculation to determine the appropriate thickness of insulation to be incorporated within the Cellcore Plus panels, we will require the following information relating to the proposed floor slab:

Floor area | Exposed perimeter distance | Floor build-up including any finishes (with dimensions) | Wall build-up (with dimensions) | Target U-value

Last and foremost, let’s answer one of the more important questions.

What it real colour of HX PLUS AND HX S?

Both products are white in colour and have a smooth top surface.

How do I choose the right one? HX S or HX PLUS?

Answer is simple. If you considering insulating your building, then you should consider looking at HX PLUS void former.

What is the standard size of HX S and HX PLUS?

Standard size is 2400mm x1200mm.

What are the main advantages of using HX PLUS?

By using HX S Plus you can hit the specific U-value. With standard HX S this simply wouldn't be possible.

Where can find a price list for HX S or HX PLUS?

Either HX S or HX Plus boards can be purchased direct from our website. You can see all prices there. Please note, some products are subject to minimum order quantity. However, if you need less, you can simply request a quote from us using live chat or quote form. Average quotation time is around 15min.

How do I cut HX S or HX Plus board?

Cut can be carried out using a fine tooth saw or hot wire cutter.

Can I walk on either on HX S Under Slab or HX Plus board?

Yes, both ranges are made of moulded collection cellular legs with polypropylene top which is strong enough to actually walk on during placement of base spaces and reinforcement. HS S Plus is much stronger then HX S Under slab. Why? It has extra Filcor  (EPS) glued to the cellular legs.

Is installation procedure same for HX S Under slab and HX Plus board?

Yes,it is. Both products are installed same way. Further installation information may be found in our pdf download section.
Fairly easy access to all PDF files.
