Cordek Filcor Joint & Stick Installation:

 · When bonding ensure that surfaces to be jointed/bonded are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or other contaminants as this can impede adhesion.

 · Apply adhesive to one surface in a wavy pattern using a manual or pneumatic cartridge gun then bring the two surfaces together immediately.

 · If a full bond is required, gun the adhesive onto the surface and comb out using an adhesive spreader prior to bringing the surfaces together.

 · It is important to leave a bond line with this type of elastomeric adhesive, i.e. the adhesive layer should be between 1-2mm thick, do not squeeze the bond line to zero.

 · Joint & Stick will bond in wet conditions, but the final strength may be reduced.

 · Prior testing is strongly recommended. Not suitable for use on Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Polythene and Teflon.

 · Formwork Jointing - Joint & Stick has been developed to enhance the connections of Cordek formwork, (formwork-to-formwork).

 · Bespoke formwork sections can be supplied with factory applied detailing on connecting edges in readiness for site applied Joint & Stick.

 · Cordek formwork sections are installed on-site with tightly butted connections.

 · Butt joints of adjoining sections are finished with the application of Joint & Stick, applied using a manual or pneumatic cartridge gun.

 · Apply Joint & Stick to the joint detail ensuring the bead remains slightly higher than the surface.

 · After application, use a sealant applicator dipped in soap water to smooth the finished joint.

 · Formwork sections can be masked using a suitable tape prior to the application of Joint & Stick for a neat and quick installation.

 · Tools can be cleaned with Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), or acetone before the Joint & Stick sealant has completely cured.

 · Ensure any cleaning products, solvents, and organic materials do not come into contact with the Filcor (EPS).

 · For difficult materials with low surface energy, perform preliminary tests to determine whether a surface preparation is necessary.

 · Application Temperature: +8°C to +30°C.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
