CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM ACCESSORIES

Cedral® Lap accessories are necessary components that make a cladding system complete in order to be fully functional for years to come. Those components include materials such as EPDM tape, colour coded screws or stainless steel nails and countersunk screws.

CEDRAL® EPDM TAPE

EPDM tape is a self adhesive synthetic rubber based tape used to protect timber battens and wooden substructure against moisture penetration when installing Cedral® Lap cladding weatherboards. EPDM tape should be installed before the installation of the Cedral® Lap Cladding. It's recommended to protect timber supports around doors and windows too. Available in 3 widths: 50mm, 75mm and 100mm to suit a variety of batten widths that are used on the market.

CEDRAL® COLOUR CODED SCREWS

Cedral® colour coded screws also called ‘coloured top’ or ‘painted screws’ are slimline tamper proof TX20 stoved enamelled heads fixings used for awkward places such as soffit, around windows or fascia.

Screws are colourised to Cedral® boards range: White C01, Beige C02, Grey Brown C03, Dark Brown C04, Grey C05, Grey Green C06, Cream White C07, Sand Yellow C08, Blue Grey C10, Atlas Brown C14, Dark Grey C15, Slate Grey C18, Black C50, Silver Grey C51, Pearl C52, Pewter C54, Taupe C55, Sage Green C57, Forest Grey C60, Burnt Red C61, Violet Blue C62, Light Oak CL104 and Dark Oak CL105.

CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM STAINLESS STEEL NAILS

Cedral® Lap boards can be pneumatically nailed allowing 9 fixings per board. Any pneumatic gun which is being considered, must be adjustable otherwise the nails could either be fired right through the board or left proud of the face of the board. Trial nailing should be conducted to set the depth of the fixing. Respect the minimum 20mm edge distance. The board can be also hand nailed without pre-drilling when the nails are at least 50mm from the end of the board. For nails closer than 50mm to the end, nail positions need pre-drilling with a 3mm drill bit. Normal HSS drill bits can be used but they will need regular sharpening. Nails should be stainless steel ring shank, minimum size 2.8 x 45mm with 7-10mm head. Nail head should lie flat on the plank surface and should not be driven or sunken into the plank.

CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM COUNTERSUNK SCREWS

Cladding countersunk screw also known as a flat-heat screw, is a type of screw that’s designed to rest flush with the Cedral® Lap board in which it’s inserted. It is called “countersunk screw” because it “sinks” into cladding planks. They feature a flat head that tapers along the shaft. Therefore, when you drive a countersunk screw into a cladding fibre cement board, the head will sink so that it’s flush with the respective material. Screws are resistant to corrosion and staining. One pack of 200 screws should cover approximately 25 boards.
