KAY-METZELER® EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE
EPS 70 Kay-Metzeler is a remarkably effective alternative to other insulation such as PIR or XPS. This insulation has been created using highly effective polystyrene, which is an ideal material for floor insulation due to its long lifespan and thinner structure. The term EPS70 relates to expanded polystyrene which has a compressive strength of 70 kPa. Product can last for many years without losing effectiveness and is more than capable of resisting potential hazards such as mould and time-induced wear. It has a thermal conductivity of 0.038W/mK which makes this product a high insulator throughout the year. Kay-Metzeler EPS70 is primarily used in residential buildings.
Board measures 2400mm x 1200mm (8'x4') and comes in square edge finish with a coverage of 2.88m2. Kay-Metzeler EPS board is manufactured in accordance with quality management system ISO 9001 and environmental management system ISO 14001. Kay-Metzeler Insulation has a high vapour resistivity which makes the material effective in preventing the deposition of surface condensation and interstitial condensation. Boards are rot proof and unaffected by mould or fungi.
They do not support insects or vermin. EPS insulation is manufactured without the use of any ozone depleting gases such as CFCs and HCFCs. It is insoluble in water and will not contaminate groundwater. When correctly installed, Kay-Metzeler boards have a service life comparable to that of the building.
KAY-METZELER® APPLICATIONS
The EPS panels are used externally on walls in external thermal insulation composite systems of new buildings and in renovating old ones. Kay-Metzeler EPS 70 is also suitable for use in ground supported or suspended concrete floor applications. It is the perfect choice as per U-value requirements for use under floor, between floors, walling and roofing applications. A large proportion of this product is also used in the insulating of cavity walls and roof insulation of commercial, industrial and domestic buildings. Kay-Metzeler is recognized as a high performance floor insulation that limits heat loss through the floor, controls the occurrence of surface and interstitial condensation. It also avoids cold spots so ensuring the comfort of building users. For this reason it can be used to insulate gound bearing concrete floors above or below the slab and be used to upgrade existing timber floors.
KAY-METZELER® THICKNESSES
The insulation boards are extremely easy to install and are available in a range of grades and sizes to suit your individual requirements. This EPS70 Range includes the following readily available product thicknesses:
