FLOOR INSULATION

Stylite T-Beam

SPI's expanded polystyrene Stylite T-Beam is a tailor made insulation void former, used in conjunction with pre-stressed concrete beams. The interlocking panels are quick and easy to install, resulting in a much faster installation process than conventional beam and block floor designs.

Stylite T-beam panels provide a highly efficient and cost effective method of insulation that exceeds the thermal requirements of part L building regulations. The polystyrene panels are profile cut, to suit any concrete beam design, ensuring a tight fit that greatly reduces cold bridging.

Bespoke UFH Panels

SPI's expanded polystyrene (EPS) Stylite floating underfloor heating panels are used to provide both insulation and underfloor heating to existing or new floors. Stylite UFH Routed insulation boards are a low profile EPS board that allow underfloor heating pipes to be laid directly into the insulation layer, with no need for fixings. They are available in a range of grades offering an excellent choice of thermal conductivity and compressive strength properties. Boards are available in standard layouts with varying pipe centres, crosses and returns. The grooves fit 16mm pipes but can also be routed at 18mm to accommodate spreader plates. Stylite UFH Routed Insulation Boards are manufactured to a standard size of 1200 x 1200mm, which are compatible with different pipe centres however we can cut boards to fit in between wooden floor joists.

Stylite PlusTherm

SPI Stylite Plustherm is expanded polystyrene (EPS) containing graphite, which considerably increases insulation performance.

The improved thermal performance of Plustherm (0.030 W/mk) allows for a 20% reduction in thickness against standard white EPS and is also a far more cost effective alternative to PIR/PU and extruded insulations.

Stylite Gridboard UFH

Stylite Gridboard UFH Insulation provides insulation and underfloor heating (UFH) in one simple solution. Provided in 2400 x 1200mm sheets with a laminate grid marking, it enables installations over large areas to be covered very quickly. Laminated to each board is a grid-patterned layer of split woven Polypropylene membrane, the grid provides a visual guide to assist in laying underfloor heating pipes. The grid system is laid out in increments of 50mm allowing for placement of different size pipe centres and pipes. The split woven membrane is also pull-out resistant to help keep pipe clips securely fixed to the boards. The membrane has an overhang on two sides so it can be sealed to ensure no ingress of screed between board joints.

Stylite Floor Insulation

SPI Stylite Floor Insulation can be used in a wide variety of floor applications, both domestic and industrial, to satisfy the current building regulations and U-value requirements. The expanded polystyrene insulation boards are extremely easy to install and are available in a range of grades and sizes to suit your individual requirements.

WALL INSULATION

Stylite Plasterboard

SPI's insulated expanded polystyrene plasterboard offers a simple solution to significantly increasing the thermal performance of any building especially existing builds.Internal wall insulation is increasingly popular now for buildings to easily stay within building regulations and increase efficiency of the building. Stylite expanded polystyrene is a perfect material, from its hygroscopic properties to its ability to stay thermally effective for the life of the build.

Structural Insulated Panels

Stylite Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and PlusTherm can be used as a cost effective insulation in the manufacture of Structural Insulated Panel Systems (SIPS) to provide the necessary thermal performance. EPS provides excellent adhesion properties and high shear strength, so manufacturers can be guaranteed of a good quality end product.

Stylite Full-Fill Cavity Insulation

Stylite Full Fill Cavity Insulation Boards are manufactured from PlusTherm Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and designed for use in masonry full fill cavity wall applications in new domestic and non-domestic buildings. Stylite PlusTherm Full fill cavity is made from graphite infused EPS giving it a high-performance thermal conductivity and will meet Building Regulations for thermal performance.

Stylite Partial-Fill Cavity Insulation

Stylite Foil Faced Partial Fill Cavity Insulation Boards are manufactured from Plustherm Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) with a low emissivity foil bonded to the face, for use in masonry cavity walls. The foil helps to reflect any radiant energy into the cavity space, in the winter this reduces the cold and in summer it reflects the heat into the cavity to utilise the ventilated space into a more efficient part of the build-up. Stylite Foil-Faced Partial Fill Cavity Boards are designed to achieve a residual cavity of 50mm to meet NHBC guidelines for masonry wall cavities and can effectively meet and exceed all current building regulations and TFEE rates.

External Wall Insulation

SPI Stylite EPS external wall insulation (EWI) boards can be used in conjunction with any render system supplied by providers across the UK. It provides an economical way of adding better thermal performance to properties without insulation in their cavities. EWI boards are available in Stylite Plustherm, for a better thermal performance at a reduced thickness & Stylite EPS 70E, standard white polystyrene. Both grades are of 'E' quality, and contain a fire retardant additive. The boards are available in a range of different sizes and edge details and are lightweight, easy to cut and handle and provide an excellent surface for all renders.

Loose Fill Cavity Wall Bead

Stylite Loose Fill Cavity Insulation is an injected blown bead insulation that is installed directly into a masonry wall cavity, perfect for new build and retrofit buildings. When injected the loose bead is mixed with a bonding agent that holds the beads together while not restricting the flow. The loose-fill EPS beads are extremely effective at filling the entire cavity for complete insulation coverage and protection against water ingress and condensation. The process of installation for injected blown bead cavity wall insulation is far more efficient than traditional cavity insulation boards. Whereas traditionally cavity boards would be installed alongside costly brick working, Stylite Injected blown bead insulation can be installed into finished walls. This dramatically decreases the cost and build time, an average-sized house can have blown bead insulation installed in a couple of hours.

ROOF INSULATION

Corrugated Roof Panel

Stylite Profiled Roof Insulation Boards can be used as part of a new build roofing system or as an overlay solution for existing roofs without incurring the high cost of re-roofing. Manufactured from high density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) they are designed to match any profiled roof deck and fit tightly into the profile to eliminate air gaps and condensation and increase the thermal performance of the roof. The profiled insulation boards are designed to match and fit tightly with any profiled or corrugated sheet.

Rafter Insulation

Stylite Pitched Roof Insulation is a cost-effective way of insulating a pitched roof either in a new build or refurbishment application. Stylite Plustherm EPS has a low thermal conductivity of 0.030 W/mK and for extra thermal performance, full sheets can be used as an overlay prior to plasterboard being installed. Sheets are supplied in 2400x1200mm and can be cut easily with a hand saw to the exact width required between each roof truss.

Flat Inverted Roofing Insulation

Stylite inverted roof insulation boards are manufactured from high density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) with low water absorption properties. They are designed for use with flat roofs with minimum falls of 1:80. Paving slab and pebble ballasts can be used to cover your inverted roofing insulation to complete your flat roof system. Stylite Inverted roofing Insulation boards when used in conjunction with Stylite WFRL can achieve a system drainage factor of 0. This means the corrected Thermal Conductivity can be used at 0.033W/mK.

Cut to Fall Roof Panels

Stylite Tapered roofing insulation boards are manufactured from high density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) with low water absorption properties. They are designed for use with flat roofs with minimum falls of 1:80. Stylite Tapered Roofing Insulation can be used in conjunction with single ply waterproofing to complete your warm roof system. Stylite Tapered roofing insulation boards are available in Hip and Valley profiles. All tapered hips and valleys are manufactured as full pieces.

Perlite Bonded Roofing Insulation

SPI's Stylite Perlite Roofing insulation board is Stylite expanded polystyrene insulation bonded to a perlite insulation board. Available in a plain board, bitumen covered board or tapered.

Marine Pontoon

Stylite Expanded Polystyrene is a lightweight fill material, its closed-cell cellular structure which compromises 98% air makes it the perfect solution for constructing marine pontoons. Given that EPS is hydrophobic meaning it repels water and it is 98% air, it naturally wants to float. EPS is resistant to mould and rot, making it a perfect material to be immersed in water for long periods of time. Also boasting an impressive strength to weight ratio, and available in a range of different grades to suit almost any pontooning applications.

Stylite Clayfill

Stylite Clayfill is a low density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) compressible fill that helps reduce any forces exerted onto deep fill foundations, concrete ground beams and piled foundations. These pressures can be caused by many things, the expansion of clay soils, excess water or overgrowth of tree roots. Whatever the reason for the development of these forces, Stylite Clayfill can help absorb the pressure exerted onto the foundations. Stylite Clayfill is easy to install and is available in standard thicknesses of 50, 100, 150 and 200mm to accommodate the different levels of ground movement. The compressible fill is also available in pre-cut pile collars to suit the diameter of the pile. EPS is the perfect clay heave protection solution as it is water and rot resistant and will never lose its compressibility.

Civil Engineering Void Filler

Stylite EPS Geofill is a lightweight, cellular plastic alternative to traditional fill materials such as soil or concrete. Manufactured off site it gives you the greatest possible control of your Civil Engineering project enabling you to design for key geosynthetic functions. Inherently multifunctional, Stylite EPS Geofill can be used in a wide range of Civil Engineering applications such as Earthworks & Structural Fill, Transportation and Architectural.

Stylite Ventfill

Stylite Ventfill Passive Ventilation Insulation is a highly effective passive ventilation solution for ground gas affected sites. Gases, produced naturally by the ground, are allowed to pass safely through the Ventfill layer and disperse to the outside of the building via perimeter vents. Manufactured from high performance Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), the system also provides insulation to the floor structure. Ventfill boards are available in two thicknesses and various grades to provide different loading and ventilation capacities to suit specific project requirements.

Under ground-bearing concrete slabs (load carrying capacity of 20kN/m2 to 50kN/m2).

Passivehaus Foundation

Stylite Passivehaus Foundation EPS will save time on the design and installation of your foundation system while also saving drastically on material costs too. Having an insulated foundation system means that the cold bridging that occurs between the ground and the building is eliminated creating a much more thermally efficient build. Stylite Passivehaus foundation reduces underfloor heat loss through rising walls from 65% to 12%.

Stylite ClayCell Ground Heave

Stylite ClayCell Ground Heave Movement Protection is a cross pattern Expanded Polystyrene board with a corrugated Polypropylene board bonded to both sides with the availability for a bonded insulation board option. The boards are utilised to protect foundations and concrete floor slabs from any ground heave movement. Ground heave movement pressures can be caused by the expansion of clay soils, excess water or overgrowth of tree roots. Stylite ClayCell can help absorb the pressure exerted onto the foundations. Each grade of product offers different safe and fail loads to allow a specific level of pressure before the boards collapse and create a void around the affected area.

Foundations and concrete slab floors from any excessive verticle ground movement.
