The company offers expert advice on every aspect of its products and applications and is happy to provide specialist project expertise to help you provide innovative solutions using EPS, XPS and Correx®.
SUNDOLITT® PRODUCTS APPLICATION
The use of EPS as a structural lightweight fill has been accepted practice in the UK for over 30 years and globally for 50 years. Sundolitt products play a crucial role in many industries. Sundolitt EPS is used as a highly successful, robust and durable large-format void fill land for structural blocks for use in civil engineering projects-for example, in railway embankments or motorway construction. Structural Fill EPS blocks are also widely used as a lightweight sub-base for road construction to alleviate pressure in poor ground conditions. Grades of Structural Fill EPS have been developed with a compressive strength up to 500 kPa. Available in compressive strengths from 70 to 500 kPa the product is designated by its strength – S70, S100, S150, S200, S250, S300, S400 and S500
SUNDOLITT® EPS STRUCTURAL FILL
Structural Fill is supplied as large blocks of EPS which are lightweight and easy to handle and install on site (2400mmx1200mm). The EPS is inert and non-toxic there is no requirement for PPE during normal handling of EPS. Structural Fill EPS is graded by its 10% compressive strength in accordance with BS EN 13163. As the EPS blocks are around 1% of the weight of traditional fill materials the net weight of the new road construction can be equal to the weight of soil removed. This alleviates pressures on existing poor ground.
SUNDOLITT® XPS POLYSTYRENE
Sundolitt XPS (extruded polystyrene) has been introduced specifically to meet the needs of high performance insulation in the construction and civil engineering sectors particularly where it may required to withstand extreme loads – for example in solid flooring and foundation applications. It is also ideal for insulating railway lines, airports and roads where heavy load traffic is encountered as well as for industrial floors including cold stores and chilled storage facilities. It is available in square-edged or overlapping section.
XPS is not affected by rain, snow or frost and its closed-pore formulation means it retains its insulation performance even in the event that it is installed in a moist environment or in buildings which may be subjected to leakage, precipitation or ingress of water. It is produced in a wide range of insulation types, thicknesses and formats- Rebated Edge (2385mmx585mm), Square Edge (2400mmx600mm), Thicknesses 30-40-50-60-75-80-100-120-130-140-150-160. Sundolitt XPS provides excellent thermal performance0.03W/mK and high compressive strength capability(300kPa). Sundolitt XPS is manufactured in accordance with BS EN ISO 13164. In fact, SUNDOLITT’S extruded polystyrene (XPS) 300 Inverted Roof Insulation Board has been awarded BBA certification. The insulation board is suitable for the inverted roof concept (above roof waterproofing) on new or existing domestic and commercial trafficked flat roofs, and balconies and terraced roofs subject to pedestrian access.
