12mm Cembrit PB Permabase (UNIPAN) Cement Board is a fibreglass-mesh reinforced, lightweight, water-resistant cement board with tapered edges, used on external applications, such as rendering, brick slips or stone cladding.

This rigid cement and aggregate based board incorporates polystyrene beads and is strengthened with glass mesh reinforcement in flat surfaces and in the tapered edges to facilitate invisible butt joint installation.

Cembrit PB Permabase UNIPAN is a dark grey flat surface board with grid texture indicating the presence of reinforcing fibre-mesh and tapered edges with lighter grey cement colour.

The UNIPAN or PB Permabase Cembrit is a highly-durable and stable reinforced base board with a great resistance to moisture and mould growth.

Cembrit PB Sheets are also suitable as backing boards in internal wet areas where ceramic tiles will be used as the decorative finish.

Boards are easy to lift and work, unlike other cementitious or calcium silicate boards with no specialist blades or fixings required.

Permabase (UNIPAN) Boards can be cut easily by scribing and breaking, cut edges are generally clean and do not require sanding.

Cembrit PB has been tested and approved in a variety of assemblies for both 1 hour and 2 hour fire rated walls.

This stable, crack free cement base Cembrit PB boards are popular for external decorative rendering, brick slips or stone slip cladding.

Cembrit PB UNIPAN can also be used as an element within internal fire rated partition walls and ceilings.

No need for mechanical cutting tools, or dust extraction equipment.

Can be nailed or screw fixed close to reinforced tapered edges.

Can be used in fire-rated internal wall partition assemblies.

Cembrit PB Permabase (UNIPAN) Installation:

 · Fixing Cembrit PB to studwork at maximum 400mm centres.

 · Steelwork should be 20 gauge (or heavier) galvanized steel.

 · Stagger boards on successive courses.

 · Weatherproof membrane must be used on external applications to protect the sheathing board.

 · Fixings – Do not use conventional plasterboard, nails, jointing tape or jointing compound.

 · For timber studwork 37.5mm stainless steel or corrosion resistant screws or PB corrosion resistant 31mm to 47m S12 type screws for 20 gauge or heavier steel frames.

 · Tools – To avoid damaging mesh while screwing use a “dry wall” screw gun with a depth sensitive nosepiece e.g. Dewalt DW255.

 · Joints – Treat joints with latex-cement mortar or dry set(thin set) mortar.

 · Use mesh tape on all edges and cuts.

 · 50mm wide for internal applications, 100mm wide for external applications.

 · Fill joints in external applications with bonding material and immediately embed 100mm alkali resistant fiberglass mesh tape into bonding material.
