It can be fitted either with a low-expansion foam or a weatherproof silicone sealant to meet the recommendations of insulation systems manufacturers.

Over Trim Flashing is suitable for newbuild, retrofit and refurbishment projects in accordance with the most frequently used shapes on buildings.

Flashing Profile is used around a window frame to prevent water, moisture or wind infiltration between the window and the exterior wall of a house.

WEC771 aluminium over trims tend to be stronger than uPVC and provide greater design flexibility than uPVC products.

Larger sizes or custom cut (fabrication) sills can be manufactured to your specific requirements, and powder coated to any RAL colour.

Profiles made from aluminium are 100% recycled with no loss of quality and are the most frequently recovered metal.

Aluminium profiles are distinguished by its outstanding formability and high corrosion resistance.

Over Trim Flashing Profile Installation guide:

 · Prepare the surface.

 · Ensure that the area where you'll be attaching the sill extender is clean and free of debris.

 · Apply PVA if needed.

 · Apply low expansion foam.

 · Apply a thin layer of low expansion foam adhesive along the backside of the sill extender where it will come into contact with the wall.

 · Ensure that you apply it evenly to achieve proper adhesion.

 · Adjust the foam gun to ensure that the layer applied is no thicker than 15mm.

 · Applying a thicker layer may result in excessive foam expansion during drying, causing the sill to rise upwards.

 · This is unacceptable, considering the need to maintain a 1-2% slope.

 · Position the sill extender.

 · Carefully position the sill extender in place, pressing it against the wall to allow the foam to adhere to both surfaces.

 · Weight it down.

 · Ensure a secure bond, place a precisely cut piece of 22mm thick OSB board on top of the sill extender.

 · This will help evenly distribute pressure and weigh it down with 3 bricks while the adhesive foam sets.

 · Allow it to dry-follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific adhesive foam you're using to determine the drying time.

 · Typically, it takes a few hours to set, but it may vary.

 · Check and clean up – after the foam adhesive has fully cured, check the sill extender to ensure it's securely attached.

 · Trim any excess foam that may have expanded out during installation.

 · By following these steps, you should have a securely attached aluminium window sill extender that is sealed and rigid, without creating thermal bridges.

 · Be sure to use proper safety precautions and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for the adhesive foam you choose to use.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
