Cordek Tri-Gas Membrane Ground Gas Protection 100m2 roll is a reinforced gas membrane used where resistance to methane, carbon dioxide or radon gas is required in construction applications, predominantly within the foundation design.

This high performance multilayer 0.4mm thick, 2000mm wide and 50m long membrane includes an ultra-low permeability aluminium foil core encapsulated between a number of additional LDPE layers and a reinforcing grid to form a single sheet membrane.

One of the great things about Tri-Gas Membrane is that it provides additional damp proofing protection to the structure (no requirement for a separate DPM).

Cordek Gas Membrane LDPE is an excellent product with resistance to both puncturing and tearing and low permeability to ground gases including methane, carbon dioxide and radon.

Tri-Gas Reinforced Construction Membrane is a BBA certified and compliant with relevant industry codes and guidance including BS 8485:2015 + A1:2019, CIRIA and BRE.

The membrane is a loose-laid product suitable for use in most horizontal and some shallow vertical including beneath reinforced concrete slabs and associated foundations.

Cordek Tri-Gas Membrane is suitable for use in conjunction with the Gas Resistant Self Adhesive Membrane and Gas Resistant DPC for protection against the ingress of methane, carbon dioxide, radon and damp.

The Tri-Gas Membrane 0.4mm can be installed with the use of either welded or taped joints depending on the specific project requirements.

Cordek Membrane Tri-Gas (Ground Gas Protection) Installation:

 · In line with industry good practice, it is recommended that the Cordek Tri-Gas membrane is jointed using conventional thermal (hot air/wedge) welding equipment to provide adequate protection against ground gas and moisture ingress.

 · All laps and junctions within the membrane should be overlapped by a minimum of 150mm.

 · Any penetrations within the membrane should be effectively sealed using the appropriate accessories and recommended details.

Storage and Handling Cordek Tri-Gas Membrane:

 · Care should be taken when moving, transporting or handling to avoid damage, puncturing or tearing which may affect the performance of the membrane.

 · The membrane should be stored undercover so as to be protected from puncture, dirt, grease, moisture, sunlight and excessive heat.

 · Damaged material shall be quarantined and stored separately for repair or replacement.

 · The rolls shall be stored on a prepared smooth dry surface (or fully boarded wooden pallets; note that slatted pallets with sharp corners will damage the rolls) and stacked no more than six rolls high.

 · The bottom rolls need to be chocked to prevent them from rolling.

 · Storage between 5°C to 30°C at 40-65% humidity under non-condensing conditions is recommended.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
