General Purpose Expansion Joint Filler Strip Fillaboard Fillcrete 12mm x 225mm x 2440mm is an ideal solution for use in expansion joints for concrete to reduce the risk of cracking, packed in 10 jointing strips per pack.
Fillcrete Expansion Joint Strips are used in expansion joints for concrete in such applications as roads, airport runways, pedestrian areas, floors, concrete roofs, external walls, cladding and slab pavement construction.
12x225x2440mm Fillcrete Fillaboard Jointing Strip is highly resistant to moisture penetration and ice formation in joints and should be protected by a fuel resistant sealant.
This strip meets the requirements of the British Specification 033, Pavement Quality Concrete for Airfields and the British Specification for Highway Works Volume 1 Road Pavements Joint Filler Strips.
In situ, as expansion jointing, protected by appropriate sealant, strips remain permanently resilient and are resistant to dry and wet rot, fungus attack and other similar forms of deterioration.
Expansion Joint Strips can be sealed using most cold applied polymeric sealants, but where liquid hydrocarbons such as shuttering oil, petrol, diesel fuels and other solvents may be present.
This wood based strips are manufactured from wood fibres (pine) water, bitumen, waterproofing agents and paraffin in a wet process, trade name Fillaboard strips for use as an expansion joint in concrete applications
The installation of expansion joint strips, such as Fillaboard in concrete, is required to relieve stress and thereby reduce the risk of cracking or heave in a slab.
It is a characteristic of concrete that it will expand or contract slightly relative to ambient temperatures.
In simple terms, concrete will expand in the summer and slightly contract in the winter.
Fillaboard Expansion Joint Strip is lightweight and can be easily cut on site.
