200mm Cellcore HX Plus Grade 18/24 (EPS) Insulated Heave Protection is a two in one solution designed for use beneath reinforced concrete floor slabs to protect against the potential effects of ground heave with the additional Filcor EPS100 insulation layer protected by a ultra thin polypropylene sheet on top.

Cordek Cellcore HX PLUS 18/24 is calculated and calibrated for concrete thickness up to 660mm (has been tested to achieve the specified performance characteristics).

200mm HX Plus is a combination of 150mm Cellcore HX S Under Slab bonded to 48mm Filcor EPS100 and protected by an ultra thin 2mm twin fluted polypropylene sheet on the top which is strong enough to actually walk on during installation.

HX Plus range is BBA certified (no.11/4862) and meets the NHBC’s Technical Standards by reducing the upward force transmitted to the structure from ground heave.

The standard range of products are available in a variety of depths and grades to suit most commonly encountered combinations of soil heave potential and concrete depth.

Variations of the product are also available for use under pile caps and ground beams or alternatively where integral insulation, permanent formwork or passive gas venting is required.

200mm Cellcore HX Plus thermal resistance is 1.39m2c/w based on the 48mm Filcor EPS insulation layer incorporated within the panel.

One of great things about HX PLUS is its very simple to work with and doesn't have much dust off when cut on site.

Grade 18/24 means that safe load is 18 kN/m2 and fail load is 24 kN/m2 (kilonewtons per m2).

Safe load is a maximum safe force that a HX S material offers without fear of breaking.

Fail load is not safe force and will cause permanent deformation of the product.

Shrinkage (NHBC) category of 200mm HX Plus is classified as medium.

200mm HX Plus Plasticity index is 20-40.

Key points:

 · Beneath reinforced concrete floor slab insulation.

 · Reduces the upward force transmitted to the structure from ground heave.

 · Integrated Filcor insulation, based upon U-value requirements.

 · Wide range of profiles and grades to suit most applications.

 · BBA certified (no.11/4862).

 · Meets the NHBC’s Technical Standards.

 · Moulded production for enhanced and consistent performance.

 · Insulated heave protection board.

Installation:

The procedure for installing Cellcore HX Plus panels is straightforward.

Please ensure that Cellcore panels are placed upon a suitable firm and level surface.

Typically a layer of concrete blinding beneath the panels is recommended.

The lightweight but durable panels can be easily laid by one person.

Where they are required to be cut this can be carried out using a fine tooth saw or hot wire cutter.

Storage and Handling:

All products are delivered in a polythene wrapping and are clearly labelled.

Both packs of Cellcore and individual panels can be manually handled and offloaded upon delivery, taking in to account any site specific manual handling regulations.

No further storage requirements are needed as the product is unaffected by both UV light and water.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
