220x1200x1200mm Heaveguard Pile Collars are compressible low density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) products, used when foundations need to be protected against ground heave.

The Heaveguard (Claymaster) pile collar is an engineered material in green or pink color designed to safeguard piles against uplift damage caused by expansive clay soils.

It is securely fitted around the pile, providing a squared edge for seamless integration with Cordek Cellcore HX S Under Slab and Cellcore HX B Under Beam panels.

Typically, it is manufactured to match the beam width and the expected heave depth of the Cellcore, and it can feature either a circular or square hole for installation.

Pile Collars are designed to aid the installation of the Cordek Cellcore panels by fitting securely around the pile and providing a square edge for the Cellcore panels to be butted against.

Claymaster Pile Collars consist of low density expanded polystyrene, coloured green or pink for easy identification on site, and available in a variety of different collar sizes and thicknesses.

Each Heaveguard Pile Collar is generally manufactured to suit the width of the ground beam and the thickness of the Cellcore panel it is being used in conjunction with.

The void within the Pile Collar is designed to suit the diameter of the pile, with each pile collar available in two segments to aid installation.

Standard Claymaster (Heaveguard) pile collar thicknesses available are 85mm, 155mm and 220mm.

Heaveguard (Claymaster) Pile Collars Features:

 · BBA certified.

 · Meets the NHBC’s technical standards.

 · Aids installation of Cellcore panels.

 · Provides protection against ground heave.

 · Wide range of collar sizes and thicknesses to suit most applications.

 · Coloured green or pink for easy identification on site.

 · Reduces the lateral force transmitted to the structure.

Cordek Heaveguard Pile Collars Installation:

 · For piled ground beams, Heaveguard is generally only required on the inside face of external ground beams, as indicated in the NHBC guidelines.

 · Typically the material will be placed against the face of the beam after striking of the formwork and prior to backfilling.

 · If a permanent formwork system is used to cast the beams then the formwork should be dimensioned such that the Heaveguard will fit inside the former prior to concreting.

 · For use in deep trench fill applications the excavation width should accommodate the width of the foundation and the thickness of the Heaveguard required.

 · Care should be taken to ensure that the Heaveguard is adequately supported so that it remains in the correct position during the placement of the concrete.

 · Typically, the excavation will be founded 500mm below the zone of influence, and the Heaveguard installed in accordance with NHBC requirements, i.e. 500mm above the bottom of the trench and on the inside face of the excavation.

Cordek Cellcore Pile Collars Certification:

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
