Colour Coded Brown Oak Fixing Screw for Bison Batten Cladding is a coloured cladding system screw used for the Bison Composite Cladding where the fixings are visible.

These brown coloured screws are a countersunk pozi head stainless steel 35mm long with 4mm diameter head fixings, only required for visible fixings.

With Bison cladding planks screws are usually used just on the last run of boards in the run either vertically or horizontally.

Colour Coded screws used with L Corners or edge boards should be at 400mm centres (so allow 7 per full length).

Most of the fixings are not visible due to the hidden lap detail, using a colour head screw is a more expensive option than lain screws.

It is important to ensure you are using deep enough joists to allow for 30mm screw-in battens (colour head screws are not suitable for 25mm timber battens).

When fixing composite slatted cladding you should always pre drill a pilot hole in any composite material.

Drill within 30mm from the edge of the material to avoid cracking that can occur under stress of expansion and contraction.

Coloured Fixing Screws come in 100 screws per bag.

Bison Composite Batten Cladding Installation Guide:

 · As for any external cladding system it is recommended that you check with the planning office within your local council to ensure whether you need to submit a planning application.

 · Note that Composite Batten Cladding is a class B fire rating and so not suitable for external cladding above the height of 18m on residential buildings.

 · The diagrams and instructions outlined in this guide are for illustration purposes only and are not meant or implied to replace a licensed professional.

 · When dealing with any type of construction project, it is necessary to wear appropriate safety equipment to reduce risk of severe injury.

 · When handling, cutting, and installing, the following safety equipment is recommended at the very least: gloves, a respiratory protection mask, long sleeves, long trousers, and safety glasses.

 · Standard woodworking tools may be used.

 · It is recommended that all circular saw blades have carbide tips and that all fixings are stainless steel.

 · Bison Composite Batten Cladding should be stored on a flat surface either fully supported or on timber bearers at maximum 400mm spacing.

 · Careful layout planning and preparation is required before starting installation to ensure the best possible cladding effect of your project.

 · Consideration for how the boards will finish at corners, window & door reveals can ensure a better finish, reduce wastage, reduce rip cuts or additional joints.

 · We recommend drawing out a site plan of your proposed project to minimize errors.

 · Bison Cladding products are NOT intended for use as columns, support posts, beams, joist stringers or other primary load-bearing members.

 · WPC products must be supported by a code-compliant substructure.

 · While WPC products are great for retrofits, they CANNOT be installed on existing cladding boards.

 · Bison Cladding products CANNOT be directly installed onto close boarding like OSB or MDF.

 · It must be installed onto a substructure, so there is adequate and unobstructed air flow under the cladding to prevent excessive water absorption.

 · A minimum of 25mm (1 inch) of continuous net free area under the cladding surface is required for adequate ventilation on all wall cladding, so air can circulate between adjacent members to promote drainage and drying.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
