Kingspan Aquazone® Water-Infiltration Reduction Membrane (300m²) is a lightweight non–woven polyethylene membrane, a high-performance water-infiltration reduction membrane for inverted roofs with excellent water vapour permeability.

Water-Infiltration Reduction Membrane Kingspan AQUAZONE is an ultra thin (0.17mm) membrane that is suitable for use on inverted roofs finished with gravel ballast, green roof systems and concrete pavers on appropriate supports.

Kingspan AQUAZONE can be installed over Kingspan Styrozone® XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) insulation on inverted roofs to minimise the cooling effect associated with rainwater flowing down through the insulation and draining away.

The Aquazone® Membrane can significantly reduce the insulation thicknesses required to achieve specified U–values, an ideal solution for both new build and refurbishment projects.

This ultimate water infiltration reduction membrane comes in 100m long by 3m wide rolls which can be cut easily using a sharp knife.

Kingspan Aquazone is a highly-durable heat and UV–resistant membrane that can be safely exposed on site for a period not exceeding 4 months.

Water-Infiltration Reduction Membrane AQUAZONE® is manufactured to the highest standards and covered by BBA Certificate 14/5102.

Aquazone is a sustainable membrane manufactured under a management system certified to ISO 14001: 2004.

Aquazone® Kingspan Membrane Features:

 · Extremely lightweight (20kg).

 · Ultra thin (0.17mm) membrane.

 · Easy to handle and install.

 · BBA Certified 14/5102.

 · Non–woven polyethylene material.

 · Ideal for new build and refurbishment.

 · Highly-durable – heat and UV stable.

 · Excellent water vapour permeability.

 · Resistant to the passage of liquid water.

 · Reduces insulation thicknesses required to achieve specified U–values

 · Resists mould and bacterial growth, and does not provide food value to vermin.

Kingspan Aquazone® Water-Infiltration Reduction Membrane Installation:

 · Aquazone should be loose–laid over the insulation.

 · Where one run of membrane overlaps another, there should be minimum 300 mm side and end laps.

 · Upper layers of the membrane should be laid over lower layers to ensure water penetration is minimised.

 · At junctions, e.g. upstands, parapets and penetrations, Kingspan AQUAZONE® should be turned up to finish above the surface of the ballast layer.

 · Kingspan Aquazone® should be star–cut and dressed down at drainage outlets.

 · Aquazone® should be turned up at the edges of the roof insulation and sealed under the flashing.

 · Kingspan Insulation recommends that roofs be designed such that they avoid standing water.

INSTALLERS

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
