75mm Xtratherm Hyfloor XT/HYF Under Floor Insulation is an excellent tongue and grooved floor insulation board with a certified thermal conductivity (lambda value) of 0.021 W/mK which is suitable for use with underfloor heating.
Xtratherm Thin-R PLUS HYFLOOR XT/HYF has high compressive strength of 140kPa and very good thermal properties required to reach the high-performance floor insulation U-Values asked for in the Building Regulations.
The XT/HYF (T&G) tongue and groove jointing system offers a practical on-site solution that results in a more robust continuous layer of insulation, minimising the threat of thermal bridging.
Xtratherm Thin-R Plus XT/HYF (T&G) comprising a Polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam core sandwiched between low emissivity gas tight reflective foil facings.
The product should be laid staggered in a break bonded pattern and fitted tightly at edges and around any service penetrations.
Xtratherm Hyfloor XT/HYF is a lightweight floor insulation board and suitable for use with underfloor heating.
The floor is an area with high risk of considerable downward heat loss when not properly insulated.
XT/HYF floor insulation board has been specifically designed to achieve lower U-Values under Building Regulations to be achieved with minimum thickness.
The XT/HYF PIR floorboard achieves an A + rating under the BRE Green Guide.

HYFLOOR XT/HYF Xtratherm Floor Board Installation Guidelines Below Concrete Slab:
· Lay and level the hardcore in layers 150mm min and 250mm max and compact well.
· Sand blind base to create a level surface and to protect DPM.
· The damp proof membrane (DPM), normally 1200g polythene or radon barrier, should be laid over the blinding, tape lapped joints to prevent passage of ground moisture.
· Carry DPM up to the wall to meet and seal with the DPC course.
· Lay the XT/HYF (T&G) across the DPM.
· If two layers are required, lay the boards in a staggered jointed pattern.
· Closely butt all edges.
· Place Xtratherm Perimeter Strips (XT/STR) around the floor perimeter to provide robust detailing in order to reduce thermal bridging.
· Ensure the top of the perimeter strip is level with top of floor finish.
· Seal around any service penetrations.
· Lay a thin gauge polythene sheet, to act as a separating layer, over the insulation with 150mm lap joints.
· VCL should be taped at the joints to ensure a continuous separating layer, as per BRE GBG 45 “Insulating Ground Floors''.
· If underfloor heating is required, lay pipes and clip to XT/HYF through the separating layer.
· Follow Underfloor Heating manufacturer’s guidelines.
· Pour and compact concrete slab to required finish floor level.
Xtratherm Thin-R PLUS Hyfloor XT/HYF Installation Guidelines Below Floor Screed:
· Lay and level the concrete slab, allowing sufficient time to dry out, as per BS 8203.
· Beam and block floors may need a levelling screed or grouting to ensure base level.
· Refer to manufacturer’s guidelines.
· The damp proof membrane (DPM), normally 1200g polythene or radon barrier, should be laid over the blinding, tape lapped joints to prevent passage of ground moisture.
· Carry DPM up to the wall to meet and seal with the DPC course.
· Lay the XT/HYF (T&G) boards across the DPM.
· If two layers are required, lay the boards in a staggered jointed pattern.
· Closely butt all edges.

· Follow manufacturer’s guidelines.
· Pour screed according to screed manufacturer’s guidelines.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.
INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
