Grey K-Rend Silicone K1 Monocouche Scratch Render is a breathable polymer modified silicone-cement based self-coloured render designed for most spray machines and hand application within External Wall Insulation systems.
Monocouche Silicone K1 is specifically designed to incorporate the benefits of silicone water repellents into a cement-based render system with an attractive, low maintenance finish.
K-Rend K1 Silicone adds a high water repellent quality, while allowing water vapour to pass freely through the render.
The amount of dirt adhering to the surface is greatly reduced, ensuring a freshly rendered appearance for a prolonged period of time.
This dry surface also improves the resistance of the finished render to algae growth and the natural phenomenon of lime-bloom.
Silicone K1 K-Rend is normally applied in two passes depending on background conditions and final finish required.
It is important that a consistent minimum finished thickness is achieved over the whole surface and that the maximum recommended thickness of 12mm to 14mm is not exceeded.
Use an 8mm or 14mm diameter spray nozzle according to the finish required.
Mixing time: 10 minutes
Mixing ratio: 4-5 litres (water)
Recommended Finish: 12mm – 14mm thick
One Coat Coverage: 1.6kg per 1mm thick per 1m2
One Coat Require: approx. 26–32kg per 1m2 (Nominal thickness 15mm to 20mm)
Application and Preparation:
· Use a 12mm or 14mm diameter mortar nozzle, spray K-Rend Silcone K1 directly on to the prepared wall surface to the required thickness of 4mm to 8mm.
· Level it out immediately, using a straight edge smoothing trowel or using a float.
· Allow the first layer to stiff before applying the second layer, the time between layers being shorter in warm dry conditions, and so much longer in wet conditions.
· Add material to the feeding hopper and adjust water supply to achieve the desired consistency of the product.
· Open time of the bag is approximately one hour.
· Add 4 to 5 litres of clean water per 25kg bag.
· Do not polish small areas such as quoins and window reveals may be finished smoothly.
· Use polythene sheeting (or any temporary protection) to protect doors, windows reveals and other features from any over spray during application.
· Store in a dry environment where possible and minimise contact with moisture.
· Packed materials should be stored in unopened bags, pallets should remain wrapped and stored in a stable manner in an appropriate storage area.
· Keep out of reach of children.

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
We are the stockist of construction materials and related products for both trade and DIY from most recognizable brands in the UK like Cordek, RCM, Promat, Rockwool, Isover, Celotex, Xtratherm, Ursa, Low-E, Cedral, Kingspan, Dufaylite, British Gypsum, K-rend, Ecotherm, Iko enertherm, Kay-Metzeler, Terrawool to allow you to complete your insulation job on time at competitive prices and the highest standards.
