100mm Soffit Insulation Board Unilin SR/ST, comprising a rigid foam phenolic (PF) core between low emissivity foil facings, an effective thermal insulation and fire performance solution used in ceilings.
Soffit Board Unilin Safe-R SR/ST can be used as an insulation in exposed concrete floor decks in car parks, storage areas, loading bays and similar areas beneath habitable buildings.
Using SR/ST on soffit areas, whether new build or refurbishment situations, provides the most efficient U-Values with minimal thickness of insulation.
Unilin Safe-R SR/ST is manufactured to EN 13166 by Unilin Insulation with certified lambda (thermal conductivity) of 0.020 W/mK and Euroclass C-s1 d0 fire classification.
Safe-R SR/ST Soffit can be fixed directly to the concrete slab, onto battens or used with proprietary fixing systems, to provide an even surface.
SR/ST Soffit Board is a lightweight rigid insulation product and is convenient to handle to allow for fast and easy fixing.
Safe-R Soffit is finished with a foil facer which can be taped using a proprietary foil tape.
SR/ST is durable, rot proof and sufficiently stable to remain effective as soffit insulation for the life of the building.
Unilin Safe-R SR/ST is a cheaper alternative to Kingspan Kooltherm K110 Soffit Insulation.

Unilin Safe-R SR/ST Soffit Insulation Board Installation Guidelines:
· Directly to Concrete - Where applicable, ensure cavity wall insulation has continued past the soffit insulation to reduce Thermal Bridging.
· Install Safe-R Soffit onto the soffit ensuring all joints are supported.
· The boards should be tightly butt jointed, laid staggered in a break bonded pattern and fitted tightly at edges and around any service penetrations.
· Any gaps or service penetrations should be addressed with propriety fillers and components in accordance with fire engineers specifications.
· Fix Safe-R Soffit to soffit with approved fixings*, ensuring the fixings penetrate the substrate by a minimum of 40mm.
· Generally 12 fixings (min shank diameter of 5.2mm) per board are required.
· Fixings should have a head diameter of at least 35mm.
· Distribute fixings evenly across the board, at max 600mm across and 800mm along, at a minimum of 50mm from the board edge and a maximum of 150mm.
· It is recommended to seek advice from the fixing manufacturer for specific guidance.
· Boards joints can be covered with a suitable cover strip.
· Fixing to Timber Battens/Proprietary Systems - Treated timber battens may be used to provide an even surface when direct fixing to the soffit is not possible.
· Battens should be treated timber, measuring minimum 50mm x 40mm, and should be mechanically fastened at minimum 600mm centres.
· Fix Safe-R Soffit to the timber battens with approved fixings*, ensuring the fixings penetrate the substrate by a minimum of 40mm.
· Ensure joints are tightly butted and fill any gaps with expanding foam.
· Refer to fixing patterns above for indicative purposes.
· It is recommended to seek advice from the fixing manufacturer for specific guidance.
· When using proprietary metal grid systems, refer to the manufacturer for fixing instructions.
· Board joints can be covered with a suitable cover strip.
· Fixing* type and specification should be verified by the fixing manufacturers' design, to take account of topographical and fire considerations.
· Account should be taken of any Thermal Bridging through the fixings as should the effect of any supporting beams.
· Fixing manufacturers: Ejot or Fischer.
· ACDs must be followed to ensure that installation is in accordance with current Building Regulations and accounted for in the energy calculation.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.
INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
