75mm SR/FB Unilin Safe-R Framing Board is an ultimate phenolic rigid steel or timber frame insulation board used in ventilated cladding, timber and steel framed systems up to 11m in height.
Safe-R SR/FB is manufactured to EN 13166 by Unilin Insulation with certified lambda (thermal conductivity) of 0.020 W/mK and Euroclass C-s1 d0 fire classification.
In timber framed systems SR/FB effectively insulating the Thermal Bridging caused by the timber studding drastically improves the insulation value of the walls.
Buildings constructed using a steel framed system are insulated on the outer side of the construction creating a ‘Warm Frame’, reducing the risk of condensation.
The low emissivity foil facing on Safe-R SR/FB Framing Board improves the thermal performance of the wall within an unventilated cavity.
The unventilated cavity, or residual cavity, is the most effective method of preventing wind-driven rain penetrating a wall from the outside.
Requirements for buildings over 11m in height must meet specific targets under Building Regulations - SR/RS Framing Board is suitable for buildings under 11m in height.
SR/FB Framing Board is durable, rot proof and sufficiently stable to remain effective as floor insulation for the life of the building.

Unilin SR/FB Framing Insulation Board Installation Guidelines:
· Timber Framed System - Cut glass fibre insulation or Safe-R Framing Board to fit snugly between the timber studding.
· Allow slight oversize of cut to achieve ‘friction fit’ and seal any gaps with suitable expanding foam.
· If partially filling, ensure the insulation is securely held in place by treated timber battens in order to prevent framing board moving within the cavity.
· Ensure boards are closely butted.
· When using Safe-R Framing Board as a sheathing board, fix the insulation outside of any breather membrane or timber sheathing on the external surface.
· A second breather membrane may be added at this point for further protection) and temporarily fixed with large head clout nails.
· Ensure boards are closely butted and stagger jointed.
· Place a sealed vapour control layer of polythene with lapped and sealed joints over the internal stud face.
· Install cavity barriers into the cavity as required under building regulations.
· Apply the internal finish as normal using fixings as recommended by the timber frame supplier.
· Steel Framed System - As with timber framing, Safe-R Framing Board should be fixed to the outer face of the steel frame ensuring that vertical joints meet over a metal stud.
· Fixings should be in accordance with the steel system manufacturers recommendations and BBA Agrément approved.
· Ensure boards are closely butted.
· Place a sealed vapour control layer with lapped and sealed joints over the inner stud face.
· Install cavity barriers into the cavity as required under building regulations.
· Apply the internal finish as normal.
· Fix wall ties as recommended by the steel frame supplier.
· Ventilated Cladding - Fix treated battens or propriety framing system vertically to the wall through the insulation layer, ensuring that the system is fixed securely to the substrate.
· Fixings should be appropriate for the weight of the cladding system, seek advice from the fixing manufacturer.
· Horizontal tiling battens can be fixed to the vertical battens if the cladding system is to be tile hung, or the cladding fixed directly to the vertical battens.
· An approved breather membrane may be required as part of the design.
· Cladding system should be fixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
· ACDs must be followed to ensure that installation is in accordance with current Building Regulations and accounted for in the energy calculation.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.
INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
