Ceresit CT87 White Adhesive (Primer and Reinforcing Mortar) is a high-quality 3 in 1 product which does not require priming before plaster’s application.
Ideal to install Expanded Polystyrene Boards (EPS), Kingspan K5 and Mineral Wool slabs as well as for applying a thin reinforced layer for thermal insulation of buildings.
Ceresit CT87 thanks to the use of specially selected combination of fibres (Fibre Force Technology), strengthens the resistance of insulation system to damage, cracks and scratches.
The application of CT87 (colour, surface and organic modifiers) allows for omitting the substrate preparation process by priming with the priming paints before the application of any Ceresit plasters.
The content of special light fillers gives more flexible, light and homogenous consistency, it is easier to be stirred, applied and spread, thus increasing the efficiency of the mortar.
CT87 should be poured into the measured amount of cool clean water and stirred with the drill by means of a mixer until the homogenous mass is obtained without lumps, wait approx. 5 minutes and mix again.
The reinforcing layer should not be applied on highly insolated surfaces and the applied layer should be protected against rain.
It is recommended to use scaffolding protection.
1. Fixing Thermal Insulation Boards:
The ready mortar should be applied with a trowel along the board edge forming a strip of 3÷4 cm wide and a few spots with the diameter of approx. 8 cm.
Only in case of mineral wool boards, it is necessary to apply so called ‘’priming’’ with CT87 on the whole surface of the board with the use of a metal long float before the adhesive mortar is applied.
Then immediately, the board should be pressed to the wall with a few slight blows a long float.
The properly applied mortar when pressed should cover minimum 40% of its surface.
In case of even, smooth substrates the mortar should be applied by means of a toothed long float (teeth 10mm - 12 mm).
The boards should be fixed tightly one at the other in one surface with the preservation of ”brick like manner’’ of vertical connection.
2. Reinforcing Layer Application:
The ready mortar should be spread along the surface of the boards by means of a toothed long float with the size of the teeth 10-12 mm.
Only in case of mineral wool boards, it is necessary to apply so called ‘’priming’’ with CT 87.
The glass fibre mesh should be applied on the fresh mortar, it should be immersed by means of a metal long float and filled smoothly.
The properly immersed glass fibre should not be visible, it should be completely immersed in the adhesive mortar.
It is necessary to use the approximately 10cm overlaps of the next mesh belts.
Possibility of mechanical application - Recommended type of machine e.g. Wagner PC 15, SPG Baumaschinen PG 20.

Application should be performed in dry conditions with the substrate and ambient temperature from +5 °C to +25 °C.
CT87 contains cement and causes alkali reaction when mixed with water.
Therefore skin and eyes should be protected.
In case of contact with eyes, they should be rinsed with water and the general practitioner should be consulted.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
We are the stockist of construction materials and related products for both trade and DIY from most recognizable brands in the UK like Cordek, RCM, Promat, Rockwool, Isover, Celotex, Xtratherm, Ursa, Low-E, Cedral, Kingspan, Dufaylite, British Gypsum, K-rend, Ecotherm, Iko enertherm, Kay-Metzeler, Terrawool to allow you to complete your insulation job on time at competitive prices and the highest standards.
