Options available
Ceresit CT84 polyurethane low expansion, quick setting adhesive for fixing Kingspan K5, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and PIR boards known as insulation foam adhesive, is also used for filling gaps and stopping draughts.
With CT84 foam anchoring possible after approximately 2 hours - speeding up the process so insulation works can take even 5 days less!
Fixing of 1 m2 of EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) boards with CT84 weights 100g versus 5kg in case of cement adhesive!
CT84 has enhanced thermal insulation properties, unlike traditional cement adhesives.
Express foam has thermal insulation properties similar to foamed polystyrene or mineral wool.
High humidity can cause faster bonding of CT84.
Application:
In Ceresit Ceretherm composite external wall insulation systems.
The container should be intensively shaken for several seconds, then the valve protection cap should be removed and the container with the valve kept upwards should be attached to the gun.
Please note! The valve of the gun should be twisted off.
With the gun attached to the container, it is possible to open the valve and release the adhesive by pressing the trigger.
Starting profiles should be fixed before the application of insulation boards.
CT84 should be applied with the dispensing gun and the container kept in an upright position and the distance kept between the gun and the board allowing the adhesive application.
In case of applying CT84 in Ceresit Ceretherm Systems, it should be applied along the periphery of the board with the distance kept approximately 2 cm from the edges and one strip running along the board parallel to its longer sides.
In case of fixing CT84 on foundation should be applied 5 strips along shorter side of the board, keep the distance c.a. 2 cm from the edge.
2-4 minutes after CT84 place the board to the wall and press it slightly with a long float.
The surface smoothness of the fixed boards can be corrected up to 20 minutes since their fixing by means of a long float.
High humidity can cause faster bonding of CT84.
Key Points:
· Low expansion
· Yield: 10 m² - 100 % higher than traditional cement adhesives
· 15 % higher adhesive strength than traditional cement adhesives
· Application from -10°C and high humidity of air especially recommended for work in low temperature when cement adhesives drying time is significantly longer or impossible
· Perfect for ”ETICS on ETICS” application
Scope of Use:
CT84 can be used for fixing foamed polystyrene boards and mineral wool in providing thermal insulation for newly erected buildings and those subjected to renovation of thermal insulation.
Approximately 2 hours after the application, the insulation boards may be smoothed and anchored, then the reinforced layer may be applied using the Ceresit CT80, CT85, CT87, CT190 or ZU.
CT84 polyurethane adhesive is also used for fixing such material as EPS and XPS foamed polystyrene on such substrates as wood, OSB board, glass, bitumen, ceramic bricks, concrete, coated and
galvanized steel, aerated concrete dry and after water impact, drywall and for layered fixing of expanded polystyrene in normal and reduced temperatures in thermal insulation systems also.
It is also used for windowsills (after degreasing the surface), filling the gaps between the EPS & XPS boards, framework (supplement of the adhesive) in case of key button effect of EPS boards in existing
insulation system and bonding of EPS boards in case of renovation of the existing insulation system ”ETICS on ETICS”
Important:
CT84 contains substances harmful to health.
Protective glasses and gloves should be worn.
It is not permitted to eat or smoke while working; do not work close to the open fire.
In case of any health problem, the general practitioner should be consulted.
The container holds flammable gas, therefore it should be protected against heat sources above the temperature of +50 °C.
The container should not be perforated or thrown into the fire.
The container with adhesive should always be transported in the boot - never in the passenger’s cabin.
Keep out of reach of children.

Alternatively, you can work it out yourself quickly and easily: to get cost per meter square please divide price shown in orange area by ''Required area (m2)'' Example price of £28.80 divided by board coverage 2.88m2 = cost of £10.00 per m2.
INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
