8mm Isocheck Impact Mat 200 is an impact and airborne improvement system, a 8mm thick layer of Isofiba and barrier mat composite used over and beneath floorboards, joists and concrete decks.
Isocheck Impact Mat 200 (8mm x 1000mm x 1200mm) is designed to be used as a single layer or double layer over floorboards or concrete decks for conversion and refurbishment applications.
Impact Mat 200 can be used for listed buildings requiring minimal structural change with a new plasterboard or existing lath and plaster ceiling.
When installed as part of a complete party floor construction the system enables a timber floor to meet the sound transmission standards of Approved Document E 2003 and amendments.
The Isocheck Impact Mat 200 system is designed to reduce impact and airborne sound transmission through timber floors.
A single layer of Impact Mat 200 can also be used draped over joists and beneath floorboards.
Laboratory performance of Impact Mat 200 achieved 33dB ∆Lw for a single layer and 40dB ∆Lw for a double layer.
Performance of 18dB ∆Lw has been achieved for a single layer with a timber laminate floor over.
Site tests have also indicated the Airborne performance is also improved by 1 to 2dB DnT,w + Ctr.

8mm Isocheck Impact Mat 200 (Acoustic Underlay) Installation Guidelines:
· Ensure the sub-floor surface is smooth, dry and free from debris and any existing floor coverings such as vinyl or carpet tiles must be removed together with any adhesive residue.
· Secure all loose floorboards ensuring all nails and screws are driven flush and securely fixed.
· Overlay the timber sub-floor with large sheets of ply or hardboard if the floorboards are irregular or uneven.
· Remove any doors that open into the room being treated along with skirting if required.
· Be aware that doors, skirting and socket height may need adjusting after the Isocheck Impact Mat 200 installation.
· Where you intend to use ceramic tiles or vinyl as a floor finish please contact us for additional advice.
· Roll out Impact Mat 200 directly on top of the sub-floor so that the entire floor surface area is covered and that it is butted up to or turned up where it terminates at all perimeter walls.
· In the case of a carpet finish Isocheck Impact Mat 200 will terminate at the edge of the gripper rail.
· In the case of a finished timber floor, the skirting should be removed and replaced once the mat has been returned on top of the finished floor.
· Bond to the sub-floor with Isocheck Impact Mat adhesive where appropriate and butt the adjoining edges followed by standard (100mm wide) building tape.
· Also tape the turned up edges to the wall to help with installation of a finished timber floor to receive the skirting later.
· Apply the finish floor surface on top of Impact Mat.
· Carpets, Timber laminate panels and vinyl coverings can be placed directly over the Impact Mat 200 with an appropriate interlayer (as selected by the flooring contractor).
· All mechanical penetrations through the Impact Mat should be avoided e.g. A finished solid timber floor would commonly be pinned to a min. 12mm plywood interlayer.
· Isocheck Flanking Strips provide isolation of the flooring system from all vertical structures and penetrations and should be used when a solid timber floor finish is required.
· The Flanking Strip is trapped to the wall and returned down over the finished timber floor.
· The skirting board is then fixed to the wall securing the Flanking Strip between the skirting board and the floor.
· After the skirting board is installed, simply trim the Flanking Strip flush with a sharp knife.
· Upon completion ensure the Isocheck Impact Mat 200 is protected from any mechanical damage where appropriate.
· Please observe proper lifting methods and if transporting around the site, by hand.
· If in doubt in any area, please call Isomass prior to commencement of work.

INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
