EWI-310 Universal Primer 20kg Priming Paint is used to prepare the walls before the application of EWI Pro adhesives to improve adhesion of the adhesive to the substrate, facilitating application and reducing groundwork absorbency.
Universal Primer EWI-310 is pigmented a red colour to enable ease of application and help the user to see where the primer has been used.
The presence of quartz aggregate in the primer creates a strong textured surface onto which the adhesive layer can bind easily.
EWI-310 Universal Primer is a composition of water-based acrylic polymer dispersion, refining agent, quartz aggregate, pigments and water.
Universal Primer comes ready-to-use in 20kg plastic buckets.
Specification:
EWI-310 Universal Primer: approx. coverage 65m2
Application: by hand using a roller

EWI-310 Universal Primer Application:
· For best results, do not add water and apply using a brush or roller.
· Weak substrates that need to be strengthened and highly absorptive substrates should be re-primed after about 4 hours.
· Dispersion paints, surface finish products or adhesives should be applied at least 24 hours after priming.
· Works must not be carried out during rain or snow, in strong winds and in direct sunlight, without special protection to limit exposure to weather conditions.
· Recently rendered coats must be protected against rain, frost and over-rapid drying.
Substrate Preparation for EWI-310 Priming Paint:
· Prior to priming, remove any loose elements and fragments on substrate.
· The substrate should be cleaned to ensure that it is free from all substances that may affect adhesion, i.e. dust, oil, grease, anti-adhesive agents, remaining paint, mould, algae, moss, etc.
· The substrate should be free of cracks and efflorescence, and uniformly dry.
· All contamination resulting from grease, oil or anti-adhesive agents should be cleaned by washing with a water-containing detergent.
· Scratched and cracked surfaces should be repaired with EWI-260 Levelling Mortar or another mortar suitable for the substrate.
· Mortar applied to repaired sites should be dry and well bonded before priming.
· Surfaces that will not be primed should be protected prior to priming.
Certification and Standards:
· PN-C-81913:1998 Dispersion paints for façade painting.
· European Technical Approvals ETA – 15/0576 and ETA – 15/0575.

INSTALLERS
No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.
4 TIPS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST INSULATION INSTALLER
1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio
It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.
2. Reviews
Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.
3. Compare prices
Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.
4. Word of Mouth
The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.
Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
