EWI-333 Top Coat Primer 20kg is a priming paint designed to be used in conjunction with any of silicone based renders to help strengthen the substrate and limit absorptive capacity of the base coat layer without compromising its breathability.

Most popular EWI-333 Top Coat Primer (Priming Paint) colours are: Pure White, Linen, Orchid, Ivory, Mist, Porcelain, Copenhagen, Antique White, Eggshell, Platinum, Elderflower, Fog, Ice, Clay, Haze, Frost, Cloud, Silver, Bone, Sandstone, Parrifin, Magnolia, Prosecco, Opal, Almond, Silk, Sage, Mirror, Concrete, Storm, Diamond, Smoke, Truffle, Ash, Lead and Acorn.

EWI-333 Top Coat Primer is based on potassium water glass and water dispersion of silicon resin and can be tinted in the same colour as the render being used, ensuring that there is no basecoat bleed through.

Top Coat Primer EWI-333 provides an adhesion between the render and the basecoat ensuring the render cures properly which is especially important during the summer months, giving the installer time to get the required finish on the render.

The EWI Pro Top Coat Primer is applied on top of the basecoat reinforcement layer (typically EWI Pro’s Premium Basecoat (EWI-225) or EPS Basecoat (EWI-220) and should be allowed to dry prior to applying one of the EWI Pro range of Silicone renders (e.g. Nano Drex Silicone Render, Premium Bio Silicone Render, Silicone Render or Silicone Silicate Render).

EWI Pro EWI-333 comes as a ready-to-use mixture in 7kg and 20kg plastic buckets.

 · Render should be applied only after the primed surface is allowed to dry for 24 hours.

 · Works must not be carried out at temperatures below +5°C, works on elevations must not be carried out during rain or snow, strong winds and in direct sunlight, without special shields to limit exposure to weather conditions.

 · Recently rendered coats must be protected against rain, frost and over-rapid drying.

 · Caution - The colour of the render primer may be slightly different from the render colour itself due to slight discrepancies between batches.

Substrate Preparation for EWI-333 Priming Paint:

 · All substrates must have appropriate load-bearing capacity and must be dry, compact, stable, even, free of dust, grease, anti-adhesive agents, remaining paint, mould, algae, moss, scratches and salt efflorescence.

 · All contamination resulting from grease, oil or anti-adhesive agents should be cleaned by washing with water and/or a detergent.

 · The surface should be cleaned with a wire brush to avoid biological contamination.

 · Scratched and cracked surfaces should be mended with repair and patching mortar.

 · Mortar applied to repaired sites should be dry and well bonded before the application of primer.

 · Highly absorptive and sandy substrates should be covered with EWI-301 Water Based Primer and allowed to dry for at least 12 -24 hours prior to priming with EWI-333.

No matter whether you choose a local installer or a national company, there’s a few tips to help you find the right installer for your home insulation improvements, such as asking for recommendations and making sure that they’re part of a certification scheme. This makes sure that they have the right skills and standards of workmanship to carry out the installation, and you can be sure that they know exactly what they are doing.

1. Thermal inspection picture in portfolio

It’s worth seeing a installer’s previous work. There’s no harm asking if you can see any properties nearby that they’ve installed insulation in. Best way would be to see Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspections. Thermal cameras spot small, but key changes in temperature in different areas of a house, identifying problematic areas that the human eye never could and some that a visual inspection could only hypothesize.

2. Reviews

Along with checking recommendations and previous work, finding reviews online can often be a great way to find out if they provide a good service or not. However, it’s best not to solely rely on reviews you may find or review websites, as there’s no controlling who writes them.

3. Compare prices

Comparing prices will also ensure companies can’t take advantage of you and give you a fair price.

4. Word of Mouth

The best way to find a great insulation installer is through recommendations. Make sure you ask friends and family. They will most likely give you their honest opinion and can tell you from first hand experience.

Whether you require a wall, cladding, external wall, loft or floor insulation fitted, you can find and hire your local insulation installers from popular UK web pages. A simple internet search will return thousands of potential installers near your area.
