CEDRAL® LAP FIXINGS

Cedral® Lap fixings are a set of necessary fasteners used for the Lap cladding system in order to be strong, reliable and correctly assembled. In fact, the Cedral® Lap system should only be installed using those dedicated fixings. Quality installation must be done in accordance with Cedral® standards. This means that when using a combination of Cedral® fixings, you can be confident that your entire installation is strong and reliable.
Each fixing has their own advantages in terms of aesthetics, installation and performance. Cedral® offers with the Lap system innovative, high-quality fixings for the facades. The easiest and most cost effective way of fixing decorative Lap cladding onto a timber substrate is to use either stainless steel nails or countersunk screws. These hidden fasteners are used to fix and align composite Lap cladding fibre cement boards securely. For awkward and uneven scenario situations colour coded screws are required.

CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM STAINLESS STEEL NAILS

Cedral® Lap boards can be pneumatically nailed allowing 9 fixings per board. Any pneumatic gun which is being considered, must be adjustable otherwise the nails could either be fired right through the board or left proud of the face of the board. Trial nailing should be conducted to set the depth of the fixing. Respect the minimum 20mm edge distance. The board can be also hand nailed without pre-drilling when the nails are at least 50mm from the end of the board. For nails closer than 50mm to the end, nail positions need pre-drilling with a 3mm drill bit. Normal HSS drill bits can be used but they will need regular sharpening. Nails should be stainless steel ring shank, minimum size 2.8 x 45mm with 7-10mm head. Nail head should lie flat on the plank surface and should not be driven or sunken into the plank.

CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM COUNTERSUNK SCREWS

Countersunk Screw also known as a flat-heat screw, is a type of screw that’s designed to rest flush with the Cedral® Lap board in which it’s inserted. It is called “countersunk screw” because it “sinks” into cladding planks. They feature a flat head that tapers along the shaft. Therefore, when you drive a countersunk screw into a cladding fibre cement board, the head will sink so that it’s flush with the respective material. Screws are resistant to corrosion and staining. One pack of 200 screws should cover approximately 25 boards.

CEDRAL® LAP SYSTEM STAINLESS STEEL COLOUR CODED SCREWS

Stainless steel colour coded head screws are engineered fixings used to provide maximum aesthetic appeal on weatherboard cladding systems. Available in self colour to match your board, the Torx drive recess facilitates a rapid and hassle free installation. It can be used on the top run of both styles (Click and Lap) of board, around windows and on bridge lap vertical installations. They can also be used on the fascia & soffit boards. Screws come in boxes of 100.
